Upon completing Module 7, students will be able to:
- Identify which prognostic scores are relevant for transplant decision-making in acute liver failure (ALF), decompensated cirrhosis and acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF).
- Evaluate the strengths and limitations of existing scores in predicting short-term mortality and transplant utility and futility.
- Apply prognostic scores to real-life clinical scenarios to prioritize transplant listing or assess futility.
- Critically appraise new or emerging models and their impact on equity and allocation policies.
