Upon completing Module 2, students will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental principles of transcriptomics (timeline from Northern blot to spatial transcriptomics & long read sequencing).
- Identify the main technologies used in transcriptomic strategies, including microarrays and RNA sequencing (mRNAseq, total RNAseq and small RNAseq, etc).
- Critically assess experimental designs applied to transcriptomic analyses to minimize technical biases.
- Interpret transcriptomic data and relate findings to liver disease mechanisms and pathophysiology
