Dr. Gu holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Münster and Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. She completed residency at Renji Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Her principal research interests include liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension with related complications, and acute-on-chronic liver failure.
Dr. has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles (H-index: 22), including 14 as the first author in distinguished journals such as NEJM Evidence, The Lancet Regional Health - Europe, Journal of Hepatology, Gut, Hepatology, Hepatology Communications, and EClinicalMedicine. In recognition of her work, she received the prestigious C.A. Ewald Prize from the German Society for Gastroenterology Digestive and Metabolic Diseases.
