I am an Associate Professor and consultant hepatologist at the Hôpital Universitaire de Bruxelles, Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). I also lead a research group at the Laboratory of Experimental Gastroenterology, ULB.
My research combines human genetics single-cell transcriptomics, and machine learning to understand how genetic and environmental factors interact to drive complications of liver cirrhosis including hepatocellular carcinoma. I currently coordinate GENIAL, a Horizon Europe consortium of 13 European partners investigating gene-environment interactions in alcohol-related HCC.
