Biography

​​I was born in Ecuador and obtained a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Barcelona, and a MSc in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. Currently, I am a PhD Candidate in Medicine and Translational Research at FCRB-IDIBAPS, Hospital Clinic of Barcelona studying the lipid mediator immune modulation in the context of end-stage liver cirrhosis.

​Our aim is to elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying inflammation and its resolution in acutely decompensated cirrhosis and acute-on-chronic liver failure. To this end, we investigate how imbalances in lipid mediators impact the immune system of patients with end-stage cirrhosis, comprehensively characterizing lipid mediator profiles through lipidomics and applying robust statistical analysis to determine their association with immune dysregulation and clinical outcomes.​
