Biography

Prof. O’Brien used to run a lab group but was lucky enough to progress an idea to trial and found he much preferred doing clinical trials. He has been very fortunate to deliver the ATTIRE & ASEPTIC national clinical trials and will shortly begin another, APEACH. Hopefully, he will be able to do at least one or two more. Currently, he is a ​​​Professor of Hepatology​​ at the Blizard Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).

Away from medicine, he is a committed father, keen runner and terrible surfer.
